Privacy Policy

tl;dr: No tracking, no data collection.

This site (640kb.neocities.org) is a static, retro HTML 3.2 website. It operates exactly like a website from the late 1990s - before surveillance capitalism, analytics scripts, tracking pixels and affiliate marketing.

Here's what that means:

  • No tracking. I do not run Google Analytics, Cloudflare or any visitor counting scripts.
  • No data collection. No forms, no logins, no cookies - nothing that asks for or stores your information.
  • No affiliate links. None of the links on this site are monetized. I make no money from your clicks.
  • No third-party requests. Every image, stylesheet and page is served directly from this Neocities site. Your browser never talks to an ad server, a tracking domain or a "social media" button service.
  • No JavaScript. There are no scripts running on any page. What you see is plain (mostly version 3.2 of) HTML.

What about server logs?

Like every web server, Neocities' server may record basic connection data (your IP address, the time of your request, which file you requested, etc). Neocities' own privacy policy covers their infrastructure. I've looked over their privacy policy and it seems very reasonable. I, the site owner, do not have access to their raw log files at all.

Clicking a link on this site?

Once you leave 640kb.neocities.org and go to another website (like Amazon, a news article, any external link), that website may track you in its own (usually intrusive and highly suspect) way. This privacy policy applies only to this retro corner of the web.

In short: This site is a digital time capsule, not a data harvesting operation disguised as a website. Click freely, read in peace and enjoy the simplicity of the old web.
