Ezra Pound's "In a Station of the Metro" began as a thirty
line poem (some sources say it was thirty-two). Unhappy with
it, he destroyed that initial draft.

Over the next year and a half, he reduced it dramatically
until he was left with a two-line poem of just fourteen words.
Twenty words when the title is included.
